While the Julian Meeting is on Hiatus…

Dear friends,

We are sorry, but the Atlanta Julian Meeting is on indefinite hiatus.

In the meantime, we recommend you consider participating in one of the Lectio Divina and Contemplation Groups that meet every week at First Christian Church of Atlanta, 4532 LaVista Road, Tucker, GA 30084-4207. These ecumenical gatherings, facilitated by the Reverend Phil Foster, include meditative reading of the lectionary readings for the coming Sunday, along with time for brief shared reflection on the readings, followed by 20 minutes of silence. It’s a lovely and gentle space where everyone is invited to simply “be still and know” the presence of God. The daytime group meets every Wednesday from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM and the evening group meets  every Wednesday from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM. Both groups meet in the downstairs prayer chapel at First Christian.

Meanwhile, if and when the Atlanta Julian Meeting is revived, this website will announce the dates and times.

Julian of Norwich goes mainstream?

My wife alerted me to the fact that the First Christian Church of Decatur, Georgia put this wonderful quotation on their marquee the other day:

First Christian Church, Decatur GA, March 2008

When it comes time to start a Decatur Julian Meeting, perhaps First Christian will host it.

All Shall be Well!

My dear friend Michael Noyes creates wonderful works of spiritually-themed calligraphy. I have been after him for some time now to use his magic to bring the words of Julian of Norwich to life. I am thrilled to announce that, with his latest masterpiece, he has done so…

To order your own copy of this magnificent print, visit Michael’s website. (Image used with the artist’s permission).
